Chiropractor Fishers IN Cory Harkins With Wife Lindsay

Chiropractor and co-owner

Cory Harkins, D.C.

As he loves kids, Dr. Cory initially wanted to be a pediatrician. While in college, he shadowed a few medical doctors, eager to learn what they thought of their profession. He would always ask, “If you were me and you could go back and do it over, would you do what you’ve done?”

Surprisingly, very few folks in the medical profession said, “yes.” He reflected on how stressed the medical doctors were and how unhappy they were with the direction of American medicine. Dr. Cory also realized that the allopathic medical model didn’t resonate with him.

Chiropractic Education and Techniques

A college friend who was studying to become a chiropractor showed Dr. Cory how chiropractic care was a natural way to wellness. That’s when he decided to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic, known for being the birthplace of chiropractic care. He then moved to Portland, Oregon. There, he believed the studies at Western States Chiropractic College would allow him to combine medical and chiropractic care.

In addition to possessing a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Cory is highly skilled in many types of techniques. In particular, he performs the nasal specific technique. It’s an adjustment through the nasal passageways using a balloon. This method can help sinusitis, headaches, facial pain and failed nasal surgeries.

They currently offer high-power class 4 laser therapy.

Trusting Your Body

"Chiropractic is about trusting the body to make the correct decisions for itself. You also need to take responsibility for what you put in your body, what you think and what you eat. Then you let the body do the job of healing and staying healthy. That’s the opposite of being reactive and putting in drugs and medications to try to fix what we think is wrong with the body."

Offering Wellness Care, Not Sick Care

In practice since 2009, Dr. Cory has witnessed firsthand that the medical model we follow in America is failing. “It’s bankrupting us. If we don’t change and take responsibility for our lives and our lifestyles, we can spend 5 trillion more dollars and will be sicker than we were before unless we start making healthy decisions.”

Helping Young Families and Pregnant Women

Dr. Cory is particularly passionate about caring for young families. Many of the children we see at the practice are involved in sports, and they can benefit greatly from chiropractic. Every child can benefit from chiropractic!

He also loves working on pregnant women throughout their pregnancies. Dr. Cory can help make the pregnancy more comfortable for moms-to-be. His children were all born at home and received their first adjustment when they were five minutes old. They’ve been adjusted since.

In His Spare Time

Dr. Cory was born in Minnesota and raised in Indiana. He and his wife Lindsay have been married since 2013. They have two Irish twin girls and a son. When he’s not working, Dr. Cory tries to spend as much time with them as he can.

Knowing the importance of health, Dr. Cory stays active running. When possible, he embraces the Fishers community by helping out at Itown Church and participating in 5k runs for local charities. He also enjoys camping in the great outdoors.

Chiropractor Fishers IN Ian Boone

Chiropractor and co-owner

Ian Boone, D.C.

Meet Dr. Ian Boone. Growing up playing many sports year-round injuries are bound to happen at some point. This is where Dr. Boone firsthand experienced the many benefits that chiropractic care has to offer.

Born in Murray, KY he was lucky enough to play baseball with a friend whose dad was a chiropractor who gave out the occasional adjustment to sore players who fully didn’t understand why at the time just knew it felt good. It wasn’t until he moved to Jasper, IN, and received care going through high school athletics that he fully understood why it is crucial to be adjusted and paid many thanks to docs in his dugouts and sidelines always keeping him in the game when they could.

"I’ve always wanted to help people. Chiropractic is my way of giving back and keeping people at their best possible health."

Chiropractic Care is for Everyone

Dr. Boone, like many chiropractors in the area, is a graduate of Logan University in St. Louis in 2017. He also attended Indiana University before going to Logan graduating from IU with a degree in Exercise Science. There is where he had a chiropractor come into a health class to talk about the benefits of chiropractic care for everyone, which further confirmed his decision of his future career.

With a long history of wanting to be involved in athletics and helping people in general he dedicated both his degrees into learning as much about the human body and how it functions. At Logan, he took several techniques including Cox Flexion Distraction, Thompson Drop, MPI, and Diversified adjusting that allows him to treat each individual that comes in for care.

Chiropractor Fishers IN Jordan Burns

Chiropractor and co-owner

Jordan Burns, D.C., M.S.

Born and raised in southern Indiana, Dr. Burns grew up in Oakland City. For many years, he participated in basketball, football, soccer, and track and field. It was his involvement in many sports that made him realize how his love for sports performance and fitness could lead to a career.

Experiencing the Power of Chiropractic

Dr. Burns attended Indiana University-Bloomington, where he received his first Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. While being a member of the men’s track and field team at IU, he suffered from back pain after a weight lifting incident.

After going to a local chiropractor, Dr. Burns was finally pain-free after his adjustment and was able to stand up. He decided to switch career paths after researching and experiencing the benefits of chiropractic care firsthand. Dr. Burns, who never liked taking medications, also appreciated that chiropractic is a drug-free approach.

Knowledge is Power

Dr. Burns then moved to St. Louis, Missouri. There, he attended Logan University-College of Chiropractic. Dr. Burns graduated with the following:

  • A Bachelor’s in Life Sciences
  • A Master’s in Sports Science and Rehabilitation
  • A Doctor of Chiropractic

While at Logan, Dr. Burns was accepted as a Senior Intern in the Biofreeze Human Performance Center, a clinic that specializes in sport-specific injuries and rehabilitation.

Board-certified by the National and Indiana Boards of Chiropractic, Dr. Burns has enjoyed successfully helping patients in pain. He uses a variety of specific chiropractic and therapy protocols. These allow him and his qualified staff to provide a gentle, effective approach to many conditions for people of all ages.

A Passion for Helping Others

"I’m so passionate about what I do every day. In particular, I love helping people who have been everywhere else but haven’t gotten the answers they need. I tell patients that they will not have another doctor that cares as much as I do."

A Patient Success Story

One of Dr. Burns’ patients was a 21-year-old female who came in on a walker. The young woman was dragging her leg behind her. She had no feeling or any strength in her leg from the mid-thigh down.

Before seeing Dr. Burns, she went to the ER and had an MRI. The woman was diagnosed with a herniated disc on the MRI. The herniated disc was considered to be psychosomatic because the disc herniation wasn’t bad enough for it to be causing this weakness.

The patient was told that something in her personal life must have been causing her issue. Dr. Burns started providing her with chiropractic care twice a day for two straight weeks. During every visit, something improved. By the end of the two weeks, the woman was walking again.

Practice What You Preach

In his personal life, Dr. Burns aims to practice what he preaches by living a natural and holistic lifestyle. He cherishes spending time with his wife, two children, family, and friends. Dr. Burns enjoys staying active by weight lifting, running, and going on walks with his kids. In his spare time, he loves to write about health and wellness topics. Chiropractor Fishers IN David Evans

Chiropractor

David Evans, D.C.

In sixth grade, Dr. Evans’ twin sister was diagnosed with scoliosis. She began going to a chiropractor and he soon noticed the difference it made in her life. Then, as a teenager suffering from migraines, Dr. Evans had an MRI and was recommended medications to take.

While he didn’t want to try that route, he went to his sister’s chiropractor for a natural approach to relief. Through the Graston technique and chiropractic adjustments, he found the relief he was looking for as well as inspiration for his career.

Dr. Evans knew that he wanted to be a chiropractor since eighth grade. He considered practicing neurosurgery, but then wanted to help people holistically, so they wouldn’t have to have surgery.

"Drugs and surgery have a time and place. If we can help people out before they need to utilize them, they’ll be a lot better off."

A Family Chiropractor That Makes House Calls

Like many chiropractors, Dr. Evans, who graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2008, still has those patients that are skeptical of chiropractic care.

To calm their nerves, he gently reminds them that chiropractic care is safe, scientifically proven to be effective and can make substantial changes in your life.

With a special passion for pregnant women’s health, Dr. Evans is certified in the Webster technique. This technique allows for the baby to get in the proper position for birth.

To help promote a great start to life, Dr. Evans willingly makes house calls for adjustments for newborns and their mothers.

Family Comes First

Dr. Evans has been married to his wife for over 10 years and the two have a lovely daughter together. He stays very active in sports, enjoying sand volleyball and soccer. He makes the most of the seasons in Fishers by snowboarding in the winter and water skiing in the summer. Serving at church, Dr. Evans speaks and participates in the choir.
